Designated as the Best Pediatric Urologist in Delhi, Dr. Sujit Chowdhary has established one of India’s busiest and outstanding pediatric surgical units with over 95% survival rate in newborn surgery, minimally invasive surgery, robotic surgery and subspecialty of Pediatric Urology. The unit has been awarded the best team prize successively by Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeon.

Considered as the top pediatric robotic surgeon in Delhi, Dr. Sujit Chowdhary has done his graduation from Armed Forces Medical College with Presidents Gold Medal, he has also acquired surgical training from Chandigarh, Birmingham and London. During his training years, he has also received the prestigious Guy Baines Medal from the British Associations of Urological Surgeons.

He was elected as a fellow to Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburg and England in 1995 and American College of Surgeons in 2000. He was also invited to be a clinical tutor and examiner for the college in 2005.

He has published over 90 peer reviewed papers with over 350 citations and several national and international guest lectures. He is also an editorial reviewer for several leading Indian journals British Medical Journal, Journals of American Academy of Pediatrics and American Association of Pediatric Surgeon. He is also on the editorial board of Journal of Pediatric Urology and South Asian Representative of International Children’s Continence Society.

Pediatric surgery consists of a Pediatric urology, Pediatric GI surgery, Pediatric thoracic surgery and general surgery in newborns to Eighteen years of age. It deals with birth defect, trauma, tumours, and other surgical conditions in this age group.

Newborn surgical emergency, Groin swellings ( hernia, hydrocoele, undescended testis ) and obstruction to urinary and GI tract are commonly seen.

Many of them are done as a day surgery, nearly 80 percent of the problems can be treated by keyhole surgery with Apollo Delhi having one of the largest experience in the country.

In general, the success rate is above 95 percent with average expense being about 0.75 - 3 lacs for most surgeries mentioned above.
