VICTORIAN

The Victorian architecture dates back to mid-to-late 19th century during Queen Victoria's reign. Victorian homes have a castle feel with ornate details overall, easily identified by its intricate gables, hipped roof line, bay windows and use of hexagonal or octagonal shapes in tower elements.

A strong Victorian theme is a mix of materials and textures. often enclosed dining rooms, dens, and bedrooms with three to five large windows facing in different directions allowing excess amount of natural light into the rooms.

Most Victorian homes are two storeys with interiors following a traditional layout, with formal living and dining rooms on the first floor and bedrooms on the second floor.

Being narrow and tall, it can be built on a small size of land.

Constructed with grand entrances the stairways, usually lead to wrap-around front porches adorned with turned wood or wrought iron railings.

MEDITERRANEAN

MODERN

Modern architecture emerged in many countries between the 1920s and 1950s. This style first took off in Europe and then made its way into the American style.

It also focuses on sustainability by constructing designs brought out by material combinations such as recycled non-toxic material and eco-friendly building powered by solar panels, building large windows allowing maximum natural light to get in, which is energy efficient.

It is characterized by common design elements such as tall, irregularly shaped windows, bold geometric shapes and asymmetrical facades and floor plans.

GEORGIAN

The Georgian style, most popular in the English colonies throughout the 18th century. Focusing on strict symmetry as well as formal form, Georgian house is a stone or brick two-story building with a side-gabled roof and a symmetrical arrangement of window placement with classical details and at front entry there is pilasters and pediment or crown.

GREEK

AMERICAN VILLA

Modern villas have more bathrooms and bedrooms, usually four bedrooms and four bathrooms in two floors.

Villas are typically larger than single family homes.

They can have as many as 20 bedrooms with a more luxurious feel.
